The main objective of this training is to understand the fundamentals of the Zotero bibliographic reference management tool and to be introduced to its main functionalities.
At the end of this training, the participants will be able to start managing their own references' library on Zotero 7 (Standalone).

L’objectif principal de cette formation est de comprendre les fondamentaux de l'outil de gestion de références bibliographique Zotero et d'être initié à ses fonctionnalités principales. À l’issue de cette formation, les stagiaires seront opérationnels pour démarrer la gestion de leur propre bibliothèque de références sur Zotero 7 (Standalone).

This event is aimed at PhD researchers, postdoctoral fellows and faculty.
During this online session you will learn how to make the most of the numerous libraries in Florence and surrounding areas. This training will not merely list libraries, but it will equip you with tools to search and find resources that might be around the corner from the EUI.

From international libraries to university libraries, from public libraries to historical libraries, from specialised libraries to media libraries, Florence has much to offer between books and databases.

Learn how to use the citation manager software RefWorks to save time and prepare the perfect bibliography.

À l'issue de cette séance, vous saurez vous repérer dans les locaux de la bibliothèque, identifer les principaux services proposés par la bibliothèque et vous connaîtrez l'existence des différents outils à disposition pour faire des recherches.

Seconde partie d'une formation en deux volets sur la recherche documentaire et la citation bibliographique.

L'objectif de ces formations est de vous proposer des méthodes, outils et ressources numériques pour mieux appréhender l'environnement de la bibliothèque et vous accompagner dans vos recherches.

Objectifs de ce 2e module :

• Comprendre les enjeux et les attendus de la citation en contexte académique : plagiat, auto-plagiat, légitimité, identification des sources, etc.
• Savoir mettre en forme une bibliographie, des citations dans le texte et des notes de bas de page, en respectant un style bibliographique
• Savoir utiliser un outil de gestion bibliographique

Through the treasure hunt, you will learn to  :

• Understand the distribution of collections and services
• Find a document on the shelf using its call number
• Search the online catalog and make a request from it
• Navigate our different sites
• Retrieve a document (BIB St Guillaume)
• Use the loan/return machine
• Chat online with a librarian
• Print a document

Objectives: In this training session, we will:

• show examples of how to use AI tools for academic research.
• compare AI search systems with traditional search systems.
• raise awareness about the risks, including issues of plagiarism and academic integrity, and adherence to AI guidelines.
• practice with the AI search tools Perplexity, Semantic Scholar, and SciSpace.
• strengthen your AI literacy.
